When we got to Antigonish we drove straight to the rail yard to find Arthur and the Pontiac. A lot of the other folks were there, but no Arthur. We decided to drive around town and get the lay of the land, check into the hotel and wait for Arthur to show up. We drove by the Green Way Claymore Inn to see the rooms. Then Arthur called to say there was a problem... We drove back into town an met Arthur and Jon at a garage. Along the
highway a car had stopped suddenly in front of them and Arthur had to slam on
the brakes as the 7000 lb car. The Pontiac didn't like that too much to
say the least. Arthur limped into town and this set off a flurry of phone
calls about storage of the car; arrival times of spare parts; could it be driven
back to Providence, RI after the trip, etc. Needing help, and having a 57 Pontiac hy-rail, we naturally decided to drive over to the local Pontiac dealership. They were really helpful and put us in touch with a lady who could store the car if we needed her to while we waited for parts to arrive after the trip. Fortunately, we didn't need to leave the car in Nova Scotia afterward, but the guys at the dealership were very helpful. Next |
